It is already March! and its #marchmeetthemaker day 2 I know, I am a day behind, no worries. Brand Values. I have always created my own logos and built my own websites for all my projects over the years. What I use to represent myself as an artist and creative needed to say something as well as be recognisable in tiny favicon size upwards.
I think trees are epic, we need them to survive on so many levels. My love for all things nature which inspires me across all my work therefore has to feature in my branding so what better than the tree of life.

Silk also features across my work, whether it’s silk scarves, silk hats or silk textile wall art pieces. It is just such a lush fabric, also it’s a natural fibre. I prefer working with something that has a connection to nature. I have more recently started looking for more sustainable materials and discovered silk sari ribbons from India. I just love the fact that each ribbon has a story, it was once part of someone’s life for an occasion, daily work or some other use. Recycled jewellery is the same, it has a story.

My artwork on paper is hugely inspired by what I see around me, often small details catch my eye, and then the huge landscapes of course are irresistible. I have used soft pastels for some 30 years I guess, the pigments are so close to nature. Recently I have started with oils, another pure pigment medium I am loving. I feel you just can’t have enough colour in your life! Years ago I would paint images I knew people would buy just to make some cash, nowadays, I paint and create what comes from within, I am connected to it in some way. I hope that people look at my work and it speaks to them on some level, that they too find a connection. Whatever the medium, my connection with nature is there in some form.
You can find my work on my website with links to my Etsy and Shop in Ireland online stores.
