In 2020 I became inspired to create the textile version of my Elemental Colours Range and am very excited to showcase them here. They depict the Ocean, Earth and Fire as well as the Desert. Inspiration comes from the places I visit, landscapes, wildflowers and seascapes. I use ready dyed and my own hand dyed and painted silks and merino wool, silk roving and lace as well as recycled sari silks for my mixed media textile wall art pieces. Embellishments of beads, charms, silk wool, sabra threads, feathers, sequins, recycled jewellery, tulle and gilt threads may be applied. Some have added dimension using polyester stuffing and many have textured additions. These are all one of a kind pieces of tactile art with a touch of luxury. I like the organic feel of them, the depth and light. These continue to evolve and become more complex.
