Yesterday evening I spent a few hours out wandering with my thoughts and my camera. I am blessed to have a magical place close by to immerse myself in, to watch the seasons change, the cycles of life turn and the wonder of natures beauty explode in a riot of colours and aromas.
I love getting up close to the flora and fauna and trying to capture some of the essence, to wonder and sometimes I am inspired to write a few words.
Musings…
As I amble along the banks of the serpentine waterway once favoured by the elegant ladies of Georgian times, clouds of magical damselflies arise in a sea of azure blue around me.
The sharp eyed heron stalks a myriad of fish beneath the water-lily strewn waters as the rhododendron blossoms reflect their beauty below.
Mythical giant dragonflies with their gossamer wings buzz and flit, dancing on the lights rays.
Bees alight on each precious flower, endlessly searching for the elixir of life.
The tall bulrushes stand commanding and erect, still hiding their majestic plumes.
The butterflies, in splendid colours, await the heady aromas of their favourite blooms.
Magpies chatter in the background and still further back beyond the whisper of the wind, the wood pigeons coo.
As the year turns again at the equinox, all around me, the promise of summer murmurs in the breeze.

Oh yes…next post I will show you the hat!
