I am a bit crazy about this place…
There are places we visit around the globe that just resonate with us on a deeper level. We feel an unspoken connection with them. Killarney National Park does that for me. It’s a place I go back to a good few times over the year to see it in its changing seasons, different lights, weather and moods. It is an incredible place where the careful management has meant it has a rich biodiversity to discover. The ” Take nothing but photos ” ethos means the flora and fauna is wondrous. Everything that falls from a tree is left untouched, To be able to see how nature is when man leaves it to its own devices, (within the parks own strategies concerning invasive species) is a true gift to human kind, even more so to the plants, trees, fungi, insects, birds and animals that inhabit the park. I spent a few days in October out and about solo with my camera and a hearty packed lunch visiting Tomies Wood, O’Sullivans Cascade, wandering the park, just looking. An absolute feast for the soul. That connection we have with the wooded places and the mycelium that travels beneath our feet is one that must be nourished. I personally go to the local woods several times a week to feed my need.
I will just leave you with some images of scenes in September and October, mushrooms of course too.

Hope you enjoyed my images! see you next post.
